THIS CROSS
, formed of steel beams that once supported World Trade Center tower one, was found amid the rubble of World Trade Center building six Sept. 13. After discovering the religious symbol that had been shaped by the force of the blast, rescue and construction workers moved it to this site, where some volunteers wrote religious messages on it and a Roman Catholic priest blessed it. Discovery and display of the cross were reported to bring comfort to numerous workers on the rubble pile. (Reuters photo by Kathy Willens)
