Second missions committee named ___A 25-member committee has been appointed to follow up the work of the Baptist General Convention of Texas Missions-sending Agencies Study Committee. ___The missions study committee, chaired by Jim Denison of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, had recommended creation of the follow-up committee. ___The purpose of the second committee will be "to monitor and evaluate the relationship between the BGCT and the Southern Baptist Convention and the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship mission-sending agencies and to develop new strategies that will strengthen the mission efforts of Texas Baptists." The committee also is charged with finding ways to enhance participation of Texas Baptists in volunteer missions and partnership missions. ___The committee was appointed by Rudy Sanchez, chairman of the BGCT Executive Board; Clyde Glazener, BGCT president; and Charles Wade, BGCT executive director. ___Glazener will serve as chairman of the body, which will be called the Missions Review and Initiatives Committee. ___Other members of the committee are Stan Allcorn of Abilene, E.B. Brooks of Dallas, Alvin Burns of Dallas, Curtis Crofton of Tyler, Ronald Edwards of Goliad, Debbie Ferrier of Houston, Kathy Hillman of Waco, Marilyn Hillyer of Tyler, Ophelia Humphrey of Amarillo, Betty Law of Fort Worth, David Mahfouz of Port Neches, Dan Malone of El Paso, Jim Nelson of Austin, Bill Nobel of Lubbock, Keith Parks of Richardson, Albert Reyes of San Antonio, Herbert Reynolds of Waco, Robert Rodriguez of Harlingen, John Cash Smith of Orange, Phil Strickland of Dallas, Bill Tinsley of Dallas, Sylvia Tostado of San Marcos, Bruce Webb of Jacksonville and Dennis Young of Missouri City. ___Wade and BGCT Treasurer Roger Hall will serve as ex-officio members.
