___ Eubanks promoted by Buckner. Greg Eubanks has been named program director for Buckner Children and Family Services in Northeast Texas. He will supervise the ministry's work in Longview, Tyler and Marshall. Eubanks

most recently has served as clinical director for Buckner's foster care program in a 23-county area in addition to other responsibilities. He is a regular columnist on family issues in the Longview News Journal and Kilgore Star. He and his wife, Marci, are members of First Baptist Church of Kilgore.
___ DBU honors Denison. James Denison, pastor of Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, received an honorary doctor of divinity degree from Dallas Baptist University Oct. 15. Denison serves as both a trustee and a distinguished university adjunct professor at DBU.
___ Student memorial dedicated. A student memorial dedication service was held at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor last week to honor eight students who died while attending the university during the past decade. Standing 15 feet high and constructed of white limestone and marble, the memorial is the first of its kind on the campus.
___ Annual session online. Video and audio highlights of this year's annual session of the Baptist General Convention of Texas will be available on the Internet during the convention for the first time this year. The convention sermon, president's address and executive director's report will be posted on the Internet within two hours of their occurrence. Also, live audio news feeds, provided by retired radio disc jockey Jim Hughes, will be provided once on Monday, Oct. 29, and twice on Tuesday, Oct. 30. The coverage will be available at www.bgct.org/conv2001.
___ Pinson, Roach honored. The Texas Baptist Missions Foundation will honor two men for outstanding service when the Baptist General Convention of Texas holds its

annual session in Dallas Oct. 29-30. The foundation's board of advisers has selected Fred Roach to receive the Adventurer Award for leadership in missions and Bill Pinson to receive the Pioneer Award for service in missions. In the mid-1980s, Roach and his wife, Gloria, accepted the challenge of raising $20 million to start 2,000 new churches as part of the Mission Texas campaign. Pinson is executive director emeritus of the BGCT.
___ UMHB alumni to meet. The annual University of Mary Hardin-Baylor alumni and friends dinner is set for Monday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m. in Room C242 of the Dallas Convention Center. The program will include an update from President Jerry Bawcom and a musical presentation by the ensemble "One Voice." Tickets are $16 and may be ordered by calling (254) 295-4599 or e-mailing alumni@umhb.edu.
___ Security planned for convention. The Dallas Convention Center is taking precautions to provide maximum security with minimal inconvenience for messengers and guests to the annual session of the Baptist General Convention of Texas next week. Messengers should expect to see a larger than usual number of uniformed police officers and security guards at the convention center, according to Tom Brannon, BGCT convention planner. Security guards will be posted at every entrance and will patrol the convention center throughout the two-day meeting. "We are asking messengers and guests to wear their badges at all times," he added. Messengers will be asked to show a photo ID when they register.
