THE BGCT honored four churches and an association for leading the state in Cooperative Program and missions giving. Those honored during the BGCT annual session were David Kimberly, on behalf of Lamesa Baptist Association, top association, averaging 14.4 percent; Mateo Rendon Jr., Primera Iglesia Bautista in Corpus Christi, top Hispanic church, $18,489; Kenneth Blake, Westside Baptist Church in Lewisville, top African-American and ethnic church, $71,877; Jim Denison, Park Cities Baptist Church in Dallas, top church in total giving to missions, $1.1 million; and Tom Roebuck, Green Acres Baptist Church in Tyler, top church in total giving through the Texas Cooperative Program, $829,194.
