___ Grenz at Logsdon. Stanley Grenz, professor of Baptist heritage, theology and ethics at Carey Theological College and Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, will deliver the second annual T.B. Maston Lectures Feb. 4 at Hardin-Simmons
DALLAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY hosted two worldwide Baptist leaders on campus Nov. 1-2. Billy Kim and Denton Lotz were special guests for a Baptist World Alliance dinner held Nov. 1, and Kim led DBU's chapel service Nov. 2. Kim (at left below) is president of the Baptist World Alliance; Lotz (right) is its executive director.
University's Logsdon School of Theology. He will speak at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in the Logsdon Chapel. The lectures are free and open to the public.
___ Baylor documentary broadcast. HDNet, the high-definition national television network, has begun broadcasting "A Most Significant Journey," a high-definition television documentary about Baylor University. The documentary has won five national awards, including a silver Telly, an Aurora Award and gold awards at the Houston International Film Festival and the American Corporate Video Awards competition. The documentary airs on DIRECTV Channel 199.
___ DBU joins Heartland. Dallas Baptist University has accepted an invitation to join the Heartland Conference, affiliated with the NCAA Division II. The conference includes three other Texas universities--St. Mary's, St. Edward's and Incarnate Word, and three Missouri universities--Drury, Rockhurst and Lincoln.
___ Fulbright picks Baylor prof. Caleb Oladipo, assistant professor of church-state studies and director of the African studies program at Baylor University, has been named a Fulbright Scholar. He will spend 2003 in South Africa, teaching and studying the roles of indigenous churches in rebuilding post-apartheid South Africa.
___ ETBU honors 13. East Texas Baptist University and alumni of the College of Marshall and East Texas Baptist College have honored 13 alumni. College of Marshall recipients are Ruth Aldredge Hazelwood of Angleton, Violet Rogers Orr of Burleson, Margaret Rhiddlehoover Hamlin of Nacogdoches and Van Dorn Hooker of Corrales, N.M. ETBU awards went to Shirley Tibbit Cole of Arlington, Norma Jean Smith Folmar of Dallas, Roye Blackmon of Crockett, Earl "Corkie" Cobb of Houston, Julia Reed Abernathy of Richardson, Keri Pinkston of Dallas, Bob Neely of Fort Worth and William E. Hoffman and Miekle Hillard Hoffman of Orange.
