___ Texas CBF seeks new coordinator. Health concerns have forced Dan and Barbara Kent to step down as the first coordinators for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship in Texas. The Kents, of Fort Worth, will retire from the position Dec. 31. They were appointed by Texas CBF in March, but Dan Kent suffered a stroke shortly thereafter. Although he has made good progress since the stroke, his continued therapy requires changes in their life pattern, the couple said. Kerry Horn, moderator of CBF in Texas, said a search committee will be appointed soon.
___ Wayland recognizes five. During its homecoming festivities, Wayland Baptist University dedicated plaques for five endowed scholarships. Scholarships dedicated included the Lee and Alma Anderson Endowed Scholarship, the Judith English Morehead and Richard M. Morehead Sr. Endowed Scholarship, the Warren Memorial Endowed Scholarship, the Dr. J.H. Wayland Endowed Scholarship, and the David and Myrt Wilder Endowed Scholarship.
___ ETBU focuses on missions. East Texas Baptist University celebrated its annual global awareness week Nov. 12-16. A highlight of the week's emphasis was an international fair held at First Baptist Church of Marshall Nov. 15.
