The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will host more than 300 high school juniors and seniors from around Texas and neighboring states for spring preview weekend March 2-3. Prospective students will stay in dorm rooms, sit in on college classes and meet with faculty, staff and students. ___ DBU names Jenkins. Rand Jenkins has been named director of public relations at Dallas Baptist University. The Fort Worth native most recently operated his own public relations agency in downtown Fort Worth and previously worked for Alday Communications in Nashville, Tenn. He is a graduate of Samford University.

Art & Soul, an international festival of religious faith and literary art at Baylor University, will feature author Anne Lamott and musician Bruce Hornsby, as well a host of other authors and composers/performers. ___ Garland named social work chair. Diana Garland has been named chairwoman of Baylor University's School of Social Work. She succeeds Preston Dyer, who is returning to full-time teaching. Garland has been director of the school's graduate program. She previously was dean of the Carver School of Church Social Work at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Her husband, David, recently was named associate dean for academic administration at Baylor's Truett Seminary.
