Bridges to lead BGCT communications
___DALLAS--Becky Bridges of Dallas has been named director of the communications center of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
___Her election was confirmed by the BGCT Executive Board by mail ballot, said Chris Liebrum, director of human resources. BGCT Executive Director Charles Wade recommended Bridges for the position.
___For the past three years, Bridges has been team project leader in the communications department of the Southern Baptist Convention Annuity Board in Dallas. Full Story
SBTC churches challenged to support SBC
___ARLINGTON--Three Texas Baptist churches have pledged to set the pace for a campaign to restore Southern Baptist Convention funding likely to be decreased from the Baptist General Convention of Texas this year.
___Prestonwood Baptist Church of Plano, First Baptist Church of Dallas and East Paris Baptist Church of Paris each have pledged to give an additional $10,000 to the SBC Cooperative Program this year.

Study finds TV sex more pervasive

___If sex seems more prevalent on TV today than just a couple of years ago, that's because it is, according to a new study by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, an independent national health care philanthropy.
___The study revealed that the number of programs containing sexual content rose from 56 percent of all shows in the 1997-98 season to 68 percent in the 1999-2000 season. At least one show in four (27 percent) included sexual behavior, with the remainder featuring conversation about sex.
