book offered to Texas churches
___SAN ANTONIO--Texas Baptists distributed more than 500 free Spanish-language copies of Charles Wade's book, "Los Principios de Jesús para Edificar su Iglesia," during the Hispanic Evangelism Conference and banquet last month in San Antonio.

wrote the English version with Wade. More than 500 copies of the book will be mailed in mid-February to those churches not receiving one in San Antonio.
___"There was something about Dr. Wade having it translated" that helped many Hispanic Baptists feel "included as part of the Baptist family," Bowman said.
___Wade is executive director of the BGCT. He and the Bowmans wrote the book three years ago while Wade was pastor of First Baptist Church in Arlington. The English title is "The Jesus Principle: Building Churches in the Likeness of Christ." The book tells the story of Wade's 40-plus years in pastoral leadership. The English version has sold about 5,000 copies and is in its second printing.
___The Spanish version, translated by Miguel Mesias and Tito Fafasuili, was released in January.
___The book focuses on how churches must continue to grow to become the presence of Jesus in their communities, Wade said. "This book helps us to get a biblical vision of what Jesus would do, where he would go, what he would say if he came to our neighborhood. And when we know that, then we know what we should be helping our church to be and do in the place he has put us."
