MEMBERS of First Church in Georgetown recently returned from a mission trip to San Pedro Sula, Honduras, in cooperation with Texas Partnerships and the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. The church aided IMB missionaries Tom and Susan Canady. Included in their efforts were holding the first-ever Vacation Bible School at one location and prayer-walking with IMB missionaries Frank and Phoebe Harrison at several locations for possible churches. Pictured are team members Alvin Woody and Karen Gattis helping youth at the VBS complete their wood, nail and wire cross craft project.

___ Olga McLester, 93, has celebrated her 84th year as a member of First Church in Rockport. She is the second of five generations of her family to be members of the church. She was baptized in Aransas Bay in January 1917.
___ First Church in Del Rio honored the widows of the church Feb. 11. They were presented long-stemmed carnations during the morning service and then were treated to a Mexican luncheon. At the luncheon, a program of singing was followed by the reading of a poem written especially for the day.
___ Chaplain Stephen Pyle of the Texoma Medical Center will be honored at First Church in Denison March 4 in the morning service. He will preach and a luncheon will follow. He is moving to Arkansas to accept a new position.
___Retiring
___ Jim Baggett, Jan. 14, after more than four years as pastor of Westside Church in Corsicana and 50 years in the ministry. His ministry was spent as a pastor and as an Air Force chaplain.
___ Lloyd Bowden, Feb. 28, after more than 23 years as associate pastor at Calvary Church in Lufkin. The church honored him Feb. 25 with a reception held after the evening service.
