The Holman Christian Standard Bible is a new translation being developed by LifeWay Christian Resources.
___ IMB mails to Texans. The International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention has mailed a 12-page color brochure to Texas Baptist churches, accompanied by a letter thanking Texas churches for their support of the IMB. "We want to thank Texas Baptists for their partnership and encourage them to keep giving themselves wholeheartedly to the cause of telling a lost world about salvation in Jesus Christ," explains Larry Cox, IMB vice president for mobilization. The brochure notes that nearly 20 percent of the IMB's 5,000 missionaries come from Texas. The brochure also advertises a special IMB website for Texas Baptists, www.imb.org/texas.
