Hispanic senior adults honor two

___SAN ANTONIO--Joshua Grijalva and Celina Saenz were given Horizon Awards during the third annual Hispanic Senior Adult Summit at the Hispanic Baptist Theological School in San Antonio March 13.
___They were honored for "outstanding service as senior adults to the cause of Christ," said Mike Lundy, director of family life and church communications with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, sponsor of the event.
___Their names will be inscribed on a Horizon Award plaque kept at the School of Gerontological Studies at Baylor University.
___Grijalva is a former president of Hispanic Baptist Theological School in San Antonio. He also served more than 21 years as a missionary to Spanish-speaking people in Texas and Colorado. He is a graduate of Howard Payne University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. He is a former president of the Mexican (now Hispanic) Baptist Convention and author of 23 books.
___Saenz and her husband, Tony, are members of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Laredo. She has been a Sunday School teacher and has been instrumental in the success of the Hispanic Senior Camp, held each September at Alto Frio Encampment at Leakey.
___More than 175 people attended the summit. Next year, the event will be in Corpus Christi.
