COVE KOREAN CHURCH in Copperas Cove held a bilingual Mission Service Corps commissioning service for Duane Redding and his wife, Marian, Feb. 11. Redding, a retired Army chaplain, will be assistant pastor/English language. Around the state
___ Belaire Church in Carrollton sponsors a radio broadcast at 3:30 p.m. Saturdays on KSKY, 660 AM. Dan Eakin, associate pastor of the church, is the program's primary speaker. Pastor L.R. Simons also will speak from time to time.

___Retiring
___ Joe Jones, Feb. 15, after more than 28 years as associate pastor of music andsenior adults at Oakwood Church in Lubbock and more than 36 years in the ministry. He previously served at First Church in Snyder as minister of music and youth and at First Church in Kermit as minister of music and education.

___Deaths
___ William Parrish, Feb. 4. Parrish was a pastor for 50 years. He was pastor at First Church in LaPorte, Highland Park Church in Mount Pleasant and Laird Hill Church in Laird Hill. He served one year as a Mission Service Corps volunteer in Kapaau, Hawaii. He also organized mission work for Rusk-Panola Association and Sylvania Church in Tyler, where he was a member. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Winnona; daughters, Nancy Wilson, Sue Parrish, Cheryl Parrish and Patty Hammontree; six grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.
___ Virgil Mott, 95, Feb. 14 in Snyder. Mott, a retired Baptist minister, had a radio program that spanned more than 30 years. Mott was known for his deep singing and speaking voice and for playing the harmonica each Sunday morning on KSNY. From 1958 to 1964, he was minister of music and education at First Church in Snyder. From 1964 to 1981, he was pastor of Bethel Church in Snyder and choir director of Trinity United Methodist Church there. From 1981 to 1983 he was minister of senior adults at Colonial Hill Church in Snyder. In 1986, he became minister of music at Avenue D Church in Snyder. At the time of his death, he was a member of Colonial Hill Church. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Barbara Kaun; son, Chapman; brother, Lonnie; and a granddaughter.
___ Robert Williams, 74, Feb. 25. A native of Portland, he and his wife, Ruby, were appointed by the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in 1964 to Nigeria, where he was an educational evangelist. In 1976, he tranferred to Niger and was a field evangelist. He retired in 1989. He is survived by his wife; daughters, Elizabeth Pinkerton, Miriam Deen and Martha Abadie; son, Mark; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
___ Othal Feather, 97, Feb. 26. Feather was a Baptist minister, professor, author and chaplain. He was an Army chaplain during World War II, serving in Belgium. He was minister of education for churches in Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri and Texas. Feather also was a professor of education administration at Southwestern Seminary for 28 years. He also was a guest professor at Arab Baptist Seminary during 1965 while on sabbatical leave, and at Midwestern Seminary following his retirement. Feather served on special assignments with the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board in the Middle East, Japan, Hong Kong, Africa and South America. He was a frequent writer for Southern Baptist periodicals and authored two books. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth. Survivors include his wife, Mayola; sons, Robert and George; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and his brother, Mark.
