EAST TEXAS BAPTIST UNIVERSITY students had a busy spring break. Eighteen of the school's students, pictured here, took part in a Habitat for Humanity home-building project in Jackson, Miss. Thirty-seven other students travelled to Chicago, Ill., to begin renovation on Chicago Land Community Church, which is being converted into an alternative church. ___bluebull San Felipe Association is holding a Golden Oldies of the Bible Conference April 17 at First Church in Richmond from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. Conference leaders include Barry Landrum, pastor of West University Church in Houston; retired pastor Bob Harris; evangelist Bob Elliott; Buddy Griffin, adult minister at Sugar Creek Church in Sugar Land; and Troy Drollinger of Renaissance Ministries. Leading the music will be Larry Howie, minister of music at Calvary Church in Rosenberg.

___Retiring
___bluebull Phil Tilden, April 15, as pastor of Sunrise Church in Kerrville. During 60 years of ministry he has served as professor, counselor, missionary and pastor.

___Anniversaries
___bluebull Harvey Abke, 10th, as pastor of Bamore Road Church in Rosenberg.
___bluebull Liberty Church in Bridge City, 10th, April 7.
___bluebull First Church in Smyer, 75th, April 15. Tom Reynolds is interim pastor.
___bluebull First Church in Nome, 85th, April 21. Activities will begin at 10 a.m. The Promises and Marty Haggard will be in concert.
___bluebull Cove Church in Orange, 60th, April 22. A lunch and afternoon praise and testimony service will be held.

___Deaths
___bluebull Frances Miller, 89, March 23 in Bryan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Miller. They served in ministry for more than 40 years. Former missionaries to West Africa, they also served churches in Panky and Shiro. She is survived by her daughters, Yvonne Owens and Elaine Weisser.
