___ Texas Baptist news bluebull Ten Young Maston Scholars were named during the inaugural T.B. Maston lectures at Hardin-Simmons University April 9-10. They were recommended by their respective schools for the special designation in honor of the late T.B. Maston, who taught Christian ethics for many years at Southwestern Seminary. Recognized were

MERLIN MORROW, professor of physical education at Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene for 20 years, was named Faculty Member of the Year recently. He is retiring at the end of May. Kimberly Howell, administrative secretary to the associate vice president for enrollment services and staffer since 1984, was announced as Staff Member of the Year. University President Lanny Hall (right) made the presentations.

___Retiring
___ Texas Baptist news bluebull Ray Singleton, April 29, as pastor of Damascus Church in Lindale, where he has served for nine years. During his 40 years of ministry, he also served churches in El Paso, Chisholm, Rotan, Rankin and San Augustine. He also served with the Home Mission Board and as director of missions in Odessa. He will be available for supply at (903) 469-3114.

___Deaths
___ Texas Baptist news bluebull Thomas Moore, 90, April 10 in Waco. Moore was a Texas pastor for many years, including Second Baptist in Andrews. He was a long-time member of First Church in Andrews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma. He is survived by his daughters, Glenda Signs and Bonnie Barnes; son, Tommy Moore; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
___ Texas Baptist news bluebull Margaret Sisemore, 87, April 13 in Amarillo. She met her husband, John, when they were both students at the Moody Bible Institute. They moved to Texas to serve Buchanan Street Church in Amarillo, serving in the music and education ministry of the church. They also served at Hillcrest Church in Dallas. They then were appointed by the Home Mission Board to serve in the Northwest. She later moved to Nashville, Tenn., when her husband joined the Sunday School Board. They returned to Texas in 1972 when Mr. Sisemore became superintendent of adult Sunday School work with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, and she became instrumental in the Sunday School work of First Church in Dallas. After retirement, they moved to Louisiana. They also led conferences at Glorieta and Ridgecrest for more than 50 years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1993. She is survived by her sister, Helen; and two nephews.
