___Carl Pogue, 85, March 8 in Houston. He was one of the original Texas Baptist Retiree Builders.
___Wendell Truitt Newman, 61, April 1 in Glorieta, N.M. He was manager of events at LifeWay conference center in Glorieta and previously served as youth minister at Park Cities Church in Dallas and First Church in Tyler. He is survived by his wife, Michele; daughter Kelly Kirkpatrick of Nashville, Tenn.; son Jonathan of St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren Alexandra and Isaac Newman of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and sisters Ganelle Pearce of Lubbock, Norma Allgood of Longview and Karen Hunt of Dumas.

___Members of First Church in Floydada will travel to Reedsburg, Wis., on a mission trip in July. They will do construction and backyard Bible clubs.
___Mission Hale Center is restoring a building that will house the Christian Women's Job Corps there.

___Ted Gross, pastor of First Church in Cameron, has returned from a two-week mission trip to Kiev, Ukraine, where he and other team members taught English classes at Central Baptist Church. More than 375 people made professions of faith through the classes and an evangelistic service.
___The FIRM Area is planning a mission trip to Manitowoc, Wis., July 20, where volunteers will conduct backyard Bible clubs, evangelistic services, youth sports clubs and do construction work at Anchor Baptist Fellowship. Harold Cook is director of missions.
