Hillcrest pastoral education program accredited
___WACO--The Clinical Pastoral Education program of Hillcrest Medical Center in Waco recently received accreditation by the National Association for Clinical Pastoral Education.
___Since 1994, the chaplaincy education program has functioned as a satellite of a similar program at Scott & White Hospital in Temple. The accreditation process took a year and was comprised of a self-study, an on-site visit by three ACPE members and acceptance at regional and national levels.
___Accreditation for the program allows Hillcrest's pastoral care department more autonomy in expanding the program.
___"We see importance not only in the physical and spiritual well-being of our patients, but also in teaching pastors, seminary students and other individuals how to minister to both aspects of a person's needs," said Ross Davis, director of pastoral care at Hillcrest and supervisor of the Clinical Pastoral Education program at Hillcrest.
