___Deaths
___bluebull Loraine Shores, 64, May 23. She taught speech, drama and English for Zapata Independent School District for many years, then left teaching and founded Mighty River Handcrafts, a division of River Ministry of the Baptist General Convention of Texas, which created jobs for women along the Rio Grande. Later in life, she returned to teaching, then became a Realtor in Corpus Christi and Palestine. She is survived by her husband, William; sons, Dexton and Del; sister, Reta Lee; brother, Cecil Fuller; and five grandchildren.
___bluebull Edward Cummings, 83, May 22 in Temple. Cummings was in the ministry for more than 50 years, serving as pastor of Overton Road and Southern Crest churches in Dallas, First Church in Van, Turnertown Church in Selman City, First Church in Gonzales, First Church in DeLeon and Park Temple Church in Houston. He then served as interim pastor for several Waco area churches after failing health led him to retire. He was a member of First Church in Lorena. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Connie; daughter, Pamela Jones; sons, Pat and Donald; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

___bluebull The Bridge Community Church has changed its name to The Bridge Fellowship at Sienna. Worship services have moved to Club Sienna in Sienna Plantation in Missori City. David Huebner is pastor.
___bluebull Elliott Church in Hearne will hold a homecoming to celebrate 112 years of ministry June 10. Worship, testimonies and acknowledgements of the church's importance to the community will be heard. A noon meal and afternoon of music also are planned. Dale Wells is interim pastor.
___bluebull The Toney Brothers will be in concert in the morning service July 1 at Calvary Church in Gainesville. Luke Smith is pastor.
