___ Yates to lead New Hope. Becky Yates has been named publisher and director of New Hope Publishers, the trade publishing division of Woman's Missionary Union. She previously was vice president of supply chain and asset management with Broadman & Holman Publishers in Nashville, Tenn.
___ Southern to keep child care. The child care center at Southern Baptist Theological Seminary will remain open for the "foreseeable future," according to Lawrence Smith, vice president for communications at the Louisville, Ky., school. An article in last week's Standard said the future of the child care center was uncertain, drawing a parallel to the recent decision to close the child care center at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, N.C. After initially questioning the future of Southern's child care center, seminary administrators have spent $100,000 to upgrade the facility's playground, fencing and other security features, Smith said.
