Evangelism Conference planned for San Antonio
___The Texas Baptist Evangelism Conference will be held Jan. 28-29, 2001, at Municipal Auditorium in San Antonio.
___The date and location were announced by Rick Davis, director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas Center for Strategic Evangelism.
___This will be Davis' first evangelism conference to coordinate since assuming the new role this spring. Because he is new to the role, not all details of the 2001 conference have been finalized.
___However, Davis emphasized the BGCT will continue to have an evangelism conference. Rumors circulating around the state that the BGCT will discontinue the conference, leaving the competing Southern Baptists of Texas Convention offering the only statewide evangelism conference, simply are not true, he explained.
___Three speakers already are confirmed for the BGCT evangelism conference, Davis said. They are evangelist Freddie
___Gage of Euless, evangelist Richard Jackson of Brownwood and pastor Rolando Lopez of San Antonio.
___Davis encouraged all Texas Baptist pastors to put the date on their calendar and plan to bring a group to San Antonio. The theme of the 2001 conference will be "This Message We Preach."
