Texas WMU sets new goal

___DALLAS--Woman's Missionary Union of Texas will seek to raise $12.5 million in endowment funds by 2005, the mission organization's 125th anniversary.
___The Texas WMU board of directors approved the $12.5 million Touch Tomorrow Today endowment goal at its June 28 meeting in Dallas.
___Touch Tomorrow Today is a cooperative effort of national and Texas WMU. Its goal is to increase endowment funds to "nurture the future for missions," according to Carolyn Porterfield, executive director-treasurer of Texas WMU.
___Proceeds from the endowment benefit both national and Texas WMU, neither of which gets Cooperative Program funds.
___In other business, the board:
___bluebull Approved "Living Water for a Thirsty Land" as the theme for the 2002 Week of Prayer for Texas Missions.
___bluebull Agreed to enlist local representatives to participate in a survey regarding the future of missions education, conducted by the Texas WMU strategic directions committee.
___bluebull Revised guidelines for the Eula Mae Henderson Memorial Scholarship and adopted guidelines for the Jeane Law Endowment for training local leaders in missions education.
___bluebull Heard a report from the Henderson Scholarship committee on six new recipients and three renewals. New recipients are Patricia Hoffman, Shawn Mooneyham, Dixie DuBose, Catherine Hodges and Jamie Morgan of Southwestern Seminary and Paula Berry of Truett Seminary. Renewals went to Julia Petter, Bicri Hernandez and Ann Parker at Southwestern.
