BGCT tests evening hours
___The Baptist General Convention of Texas is staffing a new toll-free resource line one night a week to provide help after regular business hours.
___Beginning July 10, each Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. through at least mid-October, up to four staff members will be available to receive calls in English or Spanish at (866) 669-2428 (NOW-BGCT).
___During regular business hours, the toll-free line will be answered in the office of bivocational/small church development. Calls received after business hours at times other than Tuesday evening will be directed to voice mail and will be answered the next business day.
___After 90 days, the "BGCT On Call" pilot project will be evaluated.
___"We have developed this pilot project to assess our Baptist families' needs for the resources of the BGCT after office hours," said Bob Ray, director of bivocational/small church development.
___"It is our feeling that many of our lay leaders and bivocational ministers would like to utilize our resources but are unable to talk to us until after 5 p.m."
