Lyons appointed to Caribbean
___Steve and Jan Lyon of Fort Worth were among the 47 people appointed by the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention Aug. 2 during a service at Glorieta, a LifeWay conference center in New Mexico.
___The Lyons will serve in the Caribbean Basin, training missionaries in leadership and interpersonal skills.
___The couple served as missionaries to Venezuela for seven years before returning to the United States. Since 1993, Lyon has taught at Southwestern Seminary.
___The Lyons live in Fort Worth and are members at Travis Avenue Church. They also consider Faith Memorial Church in Houston as influential in their lives.
___Lyon was born in Jacksonville, she was born in Houston.
___The couple has two adult children--Lana Dorazio and Lindsay Lyon.
