TOM CASEY (left) steadies a moving box as youth from Southcrest Baptist Church in Lubbock struggle to remove a table. The youth spent a week unloading and assembling furniture at the International Mission Board's Missionary Learning Center in Rockville, Va. and performing a musical in several Richmond-area churches. Their volunteer labor saved the IMB the equivalent of one year's salary for a journeyman, said Gary Beaty, who is director of the facilities department at the orientation center for new missionaries. "When I found out we would be at the Missionary Learning Center and get to see the IMB, I was so excited," said Kelsey Markham, one of the youth members. "I want to learn more from the missionaries and to see and help at MLC." During the week, at least five youth expressed a desire to participate in missions. (IMB photo by Warren Johnson)
