___bluebull Sonicflood in Belton. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor will host the Christian music group Sonicflood, with Kelly Minter and the Jason Ingram Band, Sept. 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Walton Chapel. General admission tickets are $10. Group rates are available by calling (254) 295-5105.
___bluebull Michael W. Smith in concert. Christian singer/songwriter Michael W. Smith will present a concert as part of Baylor University's Welcome Week Aug. 17. ___bluebull Health systems may unite. Baptist Health System, an agency affiliated with the Baptist General Convention of Texas and based in San Antonio, has signed a letter of intent to explore the possibility of linking with Christus Santa Rosa Health Care Corp. The deal reportedly could result in a merger of the two non-profit health care entities. Both systems laid off hundreds of workers last year in a effort to survive amid dramatic changes in Medicare and managed-care insurance programs. A committee studying the possible merger will report in October.
___bluebull Brown to Wayland. Wayland Baptist University alumnus Donnie Brown has been named the university's director of Baptist Student Ministries. A 1993 graduate of Wayland, Brown has been pastor of First Baptist Church of China Spring. He also is a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
