FIRST CHURCH IN SWEENY recently honored Charlene Finley for her 50 years of service to the church as pianist. She was presented a plaque, a corsage and an arrangement of 50 roses by Minister of Music Dale Lee. Later a reception was held in her honor.

___ Lottie Griffith, 93, July 12. She was the wife of Texas pastor George Griffith. They served churches in Bellville, Houston, Falfurrias, Orange, Liberty Hill, Bishop and Vidor. She was a member of First Church in Riesel. She was preceded in death by her husband and four young sons. She is survived by daughters, Barbara Smith, Lottie Holland and Elizabeth Brisby; sons, George and Michael; 15 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lois Riquelmy.
