___ More Dallas area host families are needed to participate in the Friendship International House Dallas program that allows international students to share the Christmas holidays with Christian families. Sponsored by Dallas Association and other Dallas churches, the ministry has hosted more than 400 students from 61 countries since its inception in 1983. | FIRST CHURCH IN DENTON recently held its annual House of Judgment Oct. 23-31. The haunted house alternative portrays the lives of people that lead them to eternity in either heaven or hell. Above are cast members portraying Christ and angels. More than 2,500 people attended the production, with more than 400 making spiritual decisions, 121 of those being professions of faith in Jesus Christ. Jeff Williams is pastor. |

___ The Cooperative Baptist Fellowship recently endorsed a number of chaplains. Appointed to Texas hospitals were Joe Alverson, Christus Spohn Hospital South, Corpus Christi, and Thomas Wicker, Scott and White Hospital and Clinic, Temple. Roger Yurkiewicz will serve the Texas Army National Guard in Austin.

___ Lewis Sims, as minister to senior adults at Crestview Church in Georgetown, Nov. 10. He served the church 18 years as minister of music and has worked with senior adults for the past 4 years.
___ Hollas Hoffman, after 10 years as pastor of First Church in Palacios and 28 years in the ministry, Nov. 24. He has been pastor of many Texas churches and has been involved in evangelism. ___ Eric and Dalese Black were commissioned as Mission Service Corps volunteers at Acton Church in Granbury Nov. 10. They will serve as campus ministers at the University of Pennsylvania.
___ Iglesia Getsemani in Fort Worth will held groundbreaking ceremonies Nov. 17 for a 22,000-square-foot facility. Included in the new building will be an office complex, worship center, multi-purpose adult building and fellowship hall, preschool, children and youth classrooms and a kitchen. The total construction budget is estimated at $2.4 million. Julio Guarneri is pastor.

___ Walter Lumpkin, 47, Nov. 4 in Houston. He was a professor of Christianity at Houston Baptist University and holder of the Bisagno Chair of Evangelism there, executive director of the Antioch Institute at the university and interim pastor of Baptist Temple in Houston. He is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Ryan and Jason; sister, Joann Chunn; and brothers, Robert, Steve and Michael.
