___ Bob Tremaine, 10th, as director of missions for Parker-Palo Pinto Area.
___Deaths
___ Harold Bass, 82, Nov. 4 in Dallas. He served as minister of education and music at First Church in Wilmer, First Church in College Station, Melrose Church in Houston, Hampton Place Church in Dallas and First Church in Terrell. He was president of the Texas Baptist Church Library Convention for five years and was a member of the Singing Men of Texas. He was head librarian of Union University in Tennessee from 1969-1986. After retiring, he served as a Mission Service Corps volunteer and participated in mission trips around the world. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susie; son, Bill; and brothers, James and Cecil.
___ Darren Baucum, 35, Nov. 6 in Gainesville, following a year-long battle with cancer. He had tongue cancer in 1991 and had been in remission for 10 years before it returned last November and spread quickly. He was pastor of Tabernacle Church in Gainesville. He served on the Small Church Advisory Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. He had served in the ministry as a youth leader, music minister and pastor. Churches he had served in addition to Tabernacle include Vilott Church in Whitesboro, First Church in Sunset, First Church in Krugerville, Harvey Street Church in Gainesville, First Church in Valley View. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; sons, Hunter, Hayden and Seth; daughter, Fallon; parents, Gayle and Patricia Baucum; brother, Joe; sister, Ronda Baldwin; and grandmother, Anna Belle Newman.
___ Myrtie Williams, 101, Nov. 13 in El Campo. She was the widowed of pastor Philip Williams, who served Texas churches from 1930-1952. His pastorates included First Church in Georgetown and Third Church in Houston, where he served 11 years. She was a member of First Church in El Campo, where she still taught in Vacation Bible School. Before moving to El Campo in 1987, she was an active member of South Main Church in Houston. She was preceded in death by her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Goelzer; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

___ Recording artist Steve Green will join the 300-member choir and orchestra of Green Acres Church in Tyler for its Christmas music production Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. Admission is free. David Dykes is pastor.
