Texans say their obedience to God led to missions
___ATLANTA--When Karen Morrow thinks of her missions calling, two words come to mind--willingness and obedience. She and her husband, Frank, serve as Cooperative Baptist Fellowship global missions field personnel among an unevangelized people group in Germany.

hes and individuals who are using their God-given gifts.
___Mrs. Morrow, a native of Houston, became a Christian at a young age and felt God calling her to missions when she was 12. At age 15, she was an exchange student in Brazil.
___"I fell in love with the people and saw for the first time" their need for a relationship with Christ, said the former youth minister at Friendship Baptist Church in Weatherford. "I felt God once again affirm his call on my life."
___While completing her college degree in business, she served as a semester missionary in Guatemala at a time when the country experienced a military coup. She recalls feeling God's presence, protection and peace.
___"I realized at that point that God wanted to further prepare me for missionary service, and I enrolled in seminary the next semester," she said.
___At Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, she met and married Frank, former pastor of First Baptist Church of Covington. As their family grew, Mrs. Morrow felt as if "the doors were closing for us to do missions as we had planned."
___Then the opportunity to serve with CBF opened.
___"It was a major step of faith for us to leave with four small children and only our suitcases to live in a foreign land and trust that God would provide our every need," she said.
___However, their commitment has produced joy.
___"It's been a joy to see friends from our unevangelized people group recently come to know Christ and see them begin to grow," she said. Unevangelized people groups are the focus of CBF global missions efforts and refer to ethnic people who have a common language but no exposure to the gospel.
___The Morrows believe it's time for other Christians to respond to God's call through active missions service, as well as through prayer and financial support for global missions.
