___bluebull Freddy Mason, 35th, as pastor of Cedar Grove Church in Carthage.

___Deaths
___bluebull Riley Fugitt, 84, Nov. 15 in Abilene. Since 1946, he had been pastor of churches in Denton Valley, Trent, Rule, Baird, Spur, El Paso, Clyde and Eula. At the time of his death, he was pastor of Opline Church in Clyde. He also was director of missions for Abilene Association for three years, a Mission Service Corps volunteer to St. Kitts and a member of the Executive Board of the Baptist General Convention of Texas for 11 years. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Vonceil; son, Michael; daughter, Sherry Taylor; brother, Bill; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
___bluebull W.J. Wimpee, 84, Dec. 1 in Waco. While a student at Baylor University from 1936 to 1940, he earned six athletic letters, three in track and three in football. Wimpee was pastor of First Church in Dayton from 1943 to 1945 but returned to Baylor in August of 1945 as Baptist Student Union director. Simultaneously, he was named the university's first chaplain, serving in that capacity until 1989. He also served the university as professor of religion, assistant to President W.R. White and liason to retired professors. He also was interim pastor to numerous churches throughout the state. His time at Baylor spanned the administration of five university presidents. He may be most remembered by Baylor staff and students as the theologian responsible for conducting chapel services and religion classes. He was a member of First Church in Waco for 50 years. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Lillian; daughters, Gayle West, Deborah Stinnett and Dayna Schwartze; sister, Thelma Lee; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

___bluebull The Heights Church in Richardson will feature a live menagerie in its original production, "Holiday at the Heights--A Christmas Hoedown" Dec. 12-15. The three-act program will feature more than 300 people and live animals, including a tiger, horse, donkey and chickens. A free petting zoo will be held on church grounds one hour before each performance. The program showcases a play written in-house by Becky McCants, creative ministries director, and Minister of Worship Tony Price. Performances are scheduled for 8 p.m. Thursday-Saturday, as well as a 4 p.m. matinee on Saturday and 6 p.m. on Sunday. The choir also has released a 10-song Christmas CD titled "Colors of Christmas--A Joyful Celebration of the Season." McCullough, 1914-17; J.L. Morris, 1917-18; G.H. Boone, 1919; Charlie Parker, 1920-31; L.E. Rambo, 1931-34; Layton Maddox, 1934-35; and R.K. McGregor, 1936-42.
