BGCT communications adds 2
___Two new staff members have assumed responsibilities in the reorganized Communications Center of the Baptist General Convention of Texas.
___"The reorganization is designed to streamline and update the services of our office," said Becky Bridges, BGCT communications director. "These staff members bring critical skills to our team and will help us move into a new era of communications for Texas Baptists."
___John Hall has joined the news and information service staff as a writer. He is a recent graduate of Baylor University with a degree in journalism and religion. He currently is continuing his studies as a part-time student at Baylor's Truett Seminary.
___Hall served as an intern during the summer with the BGCT news and information service, Buckner Baptist Benevolences and the Baptist Standard. During the previous summer, he worked as an intern with Associated Baptist Press. He also served as a staff writer for the Baylor Lariat.
___Hall, 23, is a native of San Antonio, where he was a member of First Baptist Church of Universal City.
___Hall fills the position previously held by Ferrell Foster, who has been named director of the new creative services section within the BGCT Communications Center.
___Rand Jenkins has joined the BGCT Communications Center staff as project manager in creative services and advertising coordinator for Texas Baptists magazine.
___Jenkins, 29, previously served as director of public relations at Dallas Baptist University. He was the president of RCJ & Associates, a Fort Worth-based public relations agency, and he worked as an account executive with other agencies in Fort Worth and Franklin, Tenn.
___Jenkins is a 1995 graduate of Samford University in Birmingham, Ala., with a major in journalism/mass communications and a minor in English. He is pursuing a master of business administration degree in marketing at DBU.
___Jenkins and his wife, Denise, live in Mansfield. They are members of First Baptist Church in Arlington.
