___SAN ANTONIO--Alberto Mottesi preached from perhaps the most familiar verse in Christian Scriptures, but his message resonated in a new way with dozens of people Jan. 27.
___Fifty-two people professed faith in Christ at the end of the Hispanic Evangelism Crusade Jan. 27 at Trinity Baptist Church in San Antonio. Decisions, including rededications and other commitments, totaled 107.
___Motessi preached from John chapter three, enumerating six aspects about the character of God recorded in John 3:16:
___
He is the "father of our Lord Jesus Christ" and he desires to be "our father" as well, the evangelist said. God is not like some human fathers who are not good men, he explained. Rather, God is a father of dignity and goodness.
___
He is the God of love. He "gives himself to us," Motessi asserted. While Satan seeks to "put you in the trash can of the world," God loves his children.
___
He is the God of reconciliation. "He will never close the door on you," Mottesi said. "He will never turn the light out on you."
___
He is the God of hope. "The hope of Christ is as real as our presence there tonight. ... He wants you to live in enthusiasm and strength. ... The only one who can give you true hope is Jesus Christ."
___
He is the God of glory. "When you give your life to Christ tonight, ... he will put his glory in you and keep you before his eternal glory," Mottesi said.
___
He is the God of miracles. "When you give your life" to Christ, "you will begin to feel his help every day," he declared. "I'm not saying to you that you will not have problems, ... but if Jesus is your Savior, you will have victory in your problems."
___Organizers said 3,000 attended the crusade that launched two days of evangelistic events. Mottesi is from Huntington Beach, Calif.
