Inner City Evangelism team leads 230 to Christ in San Antonio blitz
___SAN ANTONIO--More than 230 people professed faith in Christ during an eight-day "Inner City Evangelism" effort in San Antonio prior to the Texas Baptist Evangelism Conference.
___ICE leaders trained 195 Baptists to share their faith at the beginning of the effort, said Wayne Shuffield, a consultant with the Baptist General Convention of Texas Center for Strategic Evangelism. The training took place at three church facilities--Riverside Hispanic, Macedonia and Rainbow Hills--representing the ethnic diversity of the city.
___ICE, an acronym for Inner City Evangelism, is an emphasis of the Southern Baptist North American Mission Board.
___The volunteers distributed more than 7,000 gospel tracts and 500 New Testaments, Shuffield said.
___They went door-to-door in the inner city and held a "block party" in southern San Antonio.
