___ KCBI wins honor. Dallas radio station KCBI-FM (90.9) has been named "Radio Station of the Year" by the National Religious Broadcasters. The award was presented Feb. 18 at NRB's annual convention in Nashville.
___ DBU Chorale at Meyerson. The Dallas Baptist University Chorale will perform at the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas March 28. The 8 p.m. program includes selected works from Bach's "Passion According to St. John," Barber's "Agnus Dei," Dubois' "Seven Last Words of Christ," Handel's "Messiah" and Thompson's "Testament of Freedom." ___ DBU names counsel. Christopher Holmes has been named general counsel for Dallas Baptist University. He moves from Aeritas Inc., a software technology firm, where he served as general counsel and director of human resources. He is a graduate of Baylor University and the University of Texas Law School.
___ UMHB choir to sing in Washington. The University of Mary Hardin-Baylor Concert Choir has been selected to represent Texas in the 2002 National Festival of the States May 17-20 in Washington, D.C. The nation's capital will host this music celebration throughout the year. Performance venues will include the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception, the Lincoln Memorial, the Fairfax Retirement Community and Washington National Cathedral.

___ Wayland plans Big Weekend. Wayland Baptist University will host its annual college preview event, Big Weekend, March 22-23 for high school juniors, seniors or college transfer students. The weekend includes tours, information sessions, audition opportunities, a concert and other games and activities. Concert performers include Mercy Me, Ten Shekel Shirt and The Normals. Cost for the weekend is $20, which includes all meals, lodging and tickets for events. Students will stay in dormitories with current Wayland students. ___ Oklahomans give to missions fund. Baptists from Oklahoma have pledged more than $250,000 toward the Baptist General Convention of Texas transition fund for Southern Baptist missionaries who refuse to sign the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message. Forty-three people from 21 churches made the pledges through the Mainstream Oklahoma Baptists organization.
___ Transition team named. The Baptist General Convention has created a team to administer the new missionary transition fund established by the BGCT Executive Board Feb. 26. The fund will meet basic needs of missionaries who are dismissed or who voluntarily leave the Southern Baptist International Mission Board and return to the United States because they will not affirm every aspect of the 2000 Baptist Faith & Message. Basic needs may include temporary housing information, job placement guidance and limited financial assistance. The BGCT transition team includes seven staff members representing the church missions and evangelism section, the BGCT financial management section and Woman's Missionary Union of Texas.
