___ Rick and Lita Sample have been commissioned as missionaries by the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship. The Samples, from Houston, will minister to internationals in the Oakland/East San Franciso Bay area of California.

___Events
___ First Church in Garland will present an Easter musical titled, "Were You There?" March 23-24 at 6:15 p.m. The musical will feature orchestral arrangements and choral selections ranging from hymns, anthems, spirituals and contemporary Christian to Handel's "Messiah." Drama scenes will portray people who were at the cross the day of the crucifixion.

___Deaths
___ Kevin Dickey, 38, Jan. 31 in Houston. Dickey, bivocational pastor of New Bethel Church in Houston, was killed in an auto-train accident, along with his 10-year-old daughter, Naomi. His 1-year-old daughter, Miriam, survived the accident. Dickey was a bus driver for
EDWIN AND NEIZE FERREIRA have been appointed by the North American Mission Board to serve as missionaries in Houston, where he is a church planter intern and pastor. They have two children--Jessica, 11, and Nathan, 4.
the Houston Independent School District for seven years and had a perfect driving record. The pastor prepared for sermons and visited hospitals between his morning and afternoon routes. He is survived by his wife, Bernice, and his young daughter.
___ Van Wisdom, 36, Feb. 28 in Fulshear. He was the son of Charles Wisdom, pastor of First Church in Katy, and worked in the New Beginnings ministry there. He is survived by his father; mother, Lilly Faye; and sisters, Carla Robinson and Rose Wisdom-McKay.
