Texans take home honors
from Baptist Communicators awards

___LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Texans took multiple honors, including two grand prizes, in the annual awards competition of the Baptist Communicators Association.
___BCA is a professional organization for writers, editors, photographers, marketers, public relations practitioners, web designers and graphic artists employed by Baptist entities worldwide. The organization's annual workshop and awards banquet was held in Louisville, Ky., in early April.
___Scott Collins and Russ Dilday of Buckner Benevolences took home two of the association's seven grand prizes.
___Collins won the Leonard Holloway Award for exceptional achievement in feature writing for a piece titled "In Search of the Prodigal." That piece told the story of a Texas couple who found new meaning in life through international adoption.
___Dilday won the Fon Scofield Award for exceptional achievement in publication photography for his photo "The Kiss." That photo portrayed the loving kiss of an adoptive child.

___bluebull Trish Ragsdale and Coleman of FamilyNet for their video program "At Home Live", second place.
___bluebull Dilday of Buckner for his single magazine photo "The Kiss," first place.
___bluebull Mark Wingfield of the Baptist Standard for his newspaper feature series "Ashes to Ashes," second place.
___bluebull Collins of Buckner for his magazine feature "In Search of the Prodigal," first place.
___bluebull Ken Camp of the Baptist General Convention of Texas for his magazine feature "The Chamber."
___bluebull Jerilynn Armstrong of the Annuity Board for advertising copywriting on "ABsolutely!," honorable mention.
___bluebull Collins of Buckner for annual report writing, second place.
___bluebull Baptist Standard staff for four-color newspaper design, first place.
___bluebull Alan Paul and Amy Seale of Buckner for design of the magazine Buckner Today, first place.
___bluebull Baylor University public relations office for design of their brochure "Baylor You! 2001 Noise!," first place.
___bluebull Debbie Sheppard of the BGCT for design of her brochure "Let's Go Pray," second place.
___bluebull Paul of Buckner for design of his brochure "Buckner Orphan Care International," second place.
