Price & Tucker named to Truett faculty
___WACO--Levi Price and Dennis Tucker are the two newest additions to the faculty at Baylor University's Truett Theological Seminary.
___Price, who has been pastor of First Baptist Church of El Paso for 17 years, has been named professor of Christian ministry and director of pastoral ministries. Tucker, who moves from the faculty of Ouachita Baptist University in Arkansas, was named assistant professor of Christian Scriptures.
___Price recently completed a term as a Baylor regent and is a member of Truett Seminary's advisory board. He has been active within the Baptist General Convention of Texas and currently serves as a trustee of Hispanic Baptist Theological School in San Antonio and president of Paisano Baptist Encampment.
___Price is a 1964 Baylor graduate and went on to earn the master of divinity degree and a doctor of ministry degree from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, Calif. A decorated Vietnam veteran, he served in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1968.
___Before assuming the pastorate of the El Paso church, he served with the Foreign Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention in Yucatan, Mexico, and held positions with the California Southern Baptist Convention and the BGCT.
___Price and his wife, Luethyl, have two children, Timothy Levi and Sara Gloria.
___Tucker is a 1990 magna cum laude graduate of Ouachita with a bachelor's degree in biblical languages and philosophy. He earned his master of divinity degree in 1993 from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he studied with David Garland, Truett's associate dean for academic affairs.
___Tucker also received a specialist degree in educational administration from the University of Louisville in 1997 and his doctorate in Old Testament studies from Southern Seminary, also in 1997.
___In addition to his faculty position at Ouachita, Tucker serves as director of external programs.
___Tucker and his wife, Tish, have three daughters, Hannah, 4; Sarah, 2; and Hope, who is 4 months old.
