Graham and Pressler elected to SBC leadership; Porter out after 25 years

___ST. LOUIS--The Southern Baptist Convention elected the builder of one of its largest churches and the architect of its controlling political movement to its top offices June 11.
___New President Jack Graham and First Vice President Paul Pressler did not face opposition during balloting at the SBC annual meeting in St. Louis.
___In a contested race for second vice president, California pastor E.W. McCall Sr. defeated two other pastors.
___Messengers also re-elected the convention's recording secretary but declined to re-elect its longtime registration secretary.

___Texas Baptist Men are serving meals to Coloradoans evacuated from their homes due to fires that continue to roar through central Colorado.
___The Top O' Texas disaster relief unit served three meals a day to victims of the Iron Mountain fire June 8-10 at First Southern Baptist Church of Cañon City, located southwest of Colorado Springs.
