___ Diversity noted at HSU. Craig Turner, president of Hardin-Simmons University, has been recognized by Saludos Hispanos magazine with the Educator of Distinction Award for commitment to diversity. "We know it is a commitment that starts at the top with Dr. Turner and is the mission of the entire organization," wrote Rosemarie Garcia-Solomon, publisher of the magazine based in Palm Desert, Calif.
___ UMHB names trustees emeritus. Eight former trustees of the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor have been named trustees emeritus. The new recognition honors former trustees who gave extraordinary service to the university. Honorees are Jim Bowmer of Temple, Ed Finlay of Houston, Stanley Grover of Wichita Falls, James Hagen of Tyler, Billy Smith of Big

___ Addition: A chart in the May 20 issue that highlighted some of the largest recent construction projects among Texas Baptist churches should have included First Baptist Church of Pasadena, which relocated from a downtown location in 1999 to a new $12 million facility. On June 2, the church broke ground for a $10 million second phase of the relocation. The chart also should have included Humble Area's First Baptist Church, which currently is relocating to a 44-acre site at an initial cost of $10 million.
