___ Judy Credicott, veteran Abilene public school teacher and administrator, will join the Hardin-Simmons University Irvin School of Education faculty for the new school year as a visiting instructor.

___ Children attending Orchard Road Church in Lewisville's Vacation Bible School collected $227.44 in their effort to purchase a milk cow to be shipped to a family in East Asia. The money donated by the 28 children will be added to others across the nation as a part of of the Manna Project, an International Mission Board program. Jerry Rogers is pastor.
___ Six members of First Church in Canton served in a Partnership Missions endeavor in Riga, Latvia, July 2-15. The church is exploring the possibility of establishing a partnership relationship with the Evangelical Church of Riga. Tim Watson is pastor.
___ Dennis Jernigan will present two free concerts at The Heights Church in Richardson Aug. 17 and 18, both at 6 p.m. He also will lead worship services at 8:15 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday morning. Gary Singleton is pastor.
___ Meadowbrook Church in Waco will be the site of a "Building a Successful Stepfamily" seminar Aug. 23-24. Ron Deal, a noted stepfamily educator, will lead the seminar. Sessions are from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Session titles include "Six Stages of Stepfamily Development," "Blending Style Myths and Realities," "Priority One--Your Marriage" and others. Care for children up to age 12 will be available. ___Retiring
___ Ken Goad, after 10 years as director of missions for Enon Association, effective Dec. 31. He has been in the ministry for 29 years. A search committee has been formed and will accept resumes through Aug. 31.
___Deaths
___ Charles McIlveene, 74, May 30 in Richardson. He was a pastor for 45 years, serving churches in Louisiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas. He was pastor of First Church in Lufkin for 20 years until his retirement in 1991. Following retirement, he was pastor of two churches in Germany through the International Service Corps of the International Mission Board. He was active in the state conventions of both Louisiana and Texas. McIlveene had a great interest in international missions, founding International Baptist Church Ministry, a non-profit organization to assist English-speaking Baptist churches overseas. He was a deacon at First Church in Richardson. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Naomi. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Betty; daughters, Carol Ann Lemond and Mary Beth Moore; son, Scott; six grandchildren; and brother, S.D.
___ John Martin, 83, June 6 in Fort Worth. He was a pastor for 59 years, leading churches in Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Texas. Texas churches he pastored included Bonita Church in Bonita, First Church in Poolville, East Dallas Church in Dallas, Inglewood Church in Grand Prairie and Ferguson Road Church in Dallas. He also was a vocational evangelist for many years, many of the revivals lasting as much as a month. In one series of revivals, he said, he ate fried chicken for 56 straight days. He also preached in crusades in Brazil, Japan and Mexico. He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Laura Beth. He is survived by sons, Thomas and Montie; daughter, Connie Goodson; sister, Frances Martin; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
___ Paul Stevens, 86, July 10 in Fort Worth. Stevens was president of the Baptist Radio & Television Commission from 1953 to 1977. He also served as a chaplain in the U.S. Air Force from 1942 to 1946 with the 450th Bomber Group based in England and Italy. Following his military service, he graduated from Southwestern Seminary and was pastor of Bolivar Church in Sanger, First Church in Wharton, associate pastor of First Church in Greenville, First Church in Denton and Crescent Hill Church in Louisville, Ky. While pastor at First Church in Ada, Okla., he was invited to head the RTVC. When television became popular, Stevens faced many challenges in convincing Southern Baptists to embrace the new medium, which many pastors called "hellivision." He also taught a Bible study class at Broadway Church in Fort Worth, where he was a member. He is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Paul Jr., John and Mark; daughter, Mary Stevens; and six grandchildren.
