Four with Texas ties tapped for international missions
___Four people with Texas ties were among 79 people appointed by the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention Aug. 1 at the LifeWay Conference Center at Ridgecrest, N.C.
___Jan Johnsonius will minister among university students in Madrid, Spain. She will seek to evangelize, disciple and plant churches among the 500,000 university students there. Johnsonius formerly served as an IMB missionary in Argentina. Since 1996, she has been director of international students at Southwestern Seminary. She is a member of Travis Avenue Church in Fort Worth.
___Brad and Karen Pollard will participate in theological education and church planting in Moldova. He will travel to villages to engage unbelievers with the gospel, modeling for students the pattern they are to follow for evangelism. She will conduct evangelism through church and home. They consider Rosen Heights Church in Fort Worth to be influential in their spiritual growth. They have one child, Abigail.
___Mark Sprinkle will minister in Russia. He will seek to develop evangelism and church planting strategies to reach the people there. Sprinkle previously served in the Ukraine with the International Service Corps, a missions program of the IMB. He consider Oak Grove Church in Burleson and First Church in Alpine influential in his spiritual growth.
