| JACK MANNING recently celebrated his 70th anniversary in ministry by preaching at Forreston Church in Forreston. Manning preached his first sermon in the same church in 1932. He was pastor of churches in Forreston, Rhome, Paradise, Burkburnett, Howard and Red Oak. Manning also taught history 27 years at Golden Gate Seminary in San Francisco, a year at Southwestern Seminary, and a year at a Spanish-language seminary in Peru. He now has retired to Waxahachie and is a member of First Church there. |

___ The Heights Church in Richardson will sponsor a free seminar for parents, step-parents, grandparents and caregivers of children up to age 18 titled "Targets for Successful Parenting." The seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 18. Art Murphy will be the featured speaker. He has been children's ministry pastor at First Church in Orlando, Fla., 17 years and is president of Arrow Ministries. He also is an author and the creator of "Step-by-Step: Leading Your Child to Christ," a seven-session video conference used by more than 800 churches. Gary Singleton is pastor.
