___ Mission pastor needed. Texas Partnerships seeks to help Resurrection Baptist Church of Montpelier, Vt., find a pastor. The 20-year-old congregation of 25 committed adults, is
___considered a "priority church" by Green Mountain Baptist Association, which is willing to provide additional resources. A small salary and two-bedroom apartment is provided. Seminary education is required, and a pastor who has school-age children is greatly desired. ___ SBC gifts down slightly for quarter. Gifts to the Southern Baptist Convention's Cooperative Program fell 2.32 percent behind the same period last year at the close of the first quarter of the fiscal year Dec. 31. From October through December, $42.36 million was given, compared with $43.36 million the year before, a drop of slightly more than $1 million. Designated gifts for the same quarter were down 16.13 percent, a drop of nearly $2 million.
___ Mainstream Baptists plan meeting. The second national convocation of the Mainstream Baptist Network is planned for Feb. 7-8 in Birmingham, Ala. Speakers include John Upton, executive director of the Baptist General Association of Virginia, and Charles Wade, executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Upton will speak on his new "Kingdom Advance" vision. Wade will tell about formation of a new world missions network by the BGCT. Additional speakers include veteran missions leaders Bill O'Brien and Keith Parks, among others. More information is available at www.mainstreambaptists.org.
