TOGETHER:
Ask God to save the people of Texas

___Many people admire Baptists because we emphasize personal evangelism. Others believe we are too pushy in our efforts to persuade people to come to Christ. But all who have found the way out of darkness into the light o

f God's salvation in Jesus Christ bless that day, and they give thanks for those people who helped them find forgiveness of sin and a hope that never will fade.
___People who need God's presence in their lives need someone to share how they came to know God. Some might criticize us, but that should never quiet us or dampen our zeal.
___One of the many things I love about our Baptist people is that desire to help others come to know Jesus. We give, pray, invite and bear witness. And when someone comes to salvation, we rejoice.
___Would you like to have the passion for evangelism rekindled in your life? Would you like to pray with others who want the same thing? Would you like to be around people who are effective personal evangelists? Would you like to join in worship, asking God to fill our hearts so that lost friends who live and work around us would feel the warmth of our love for them? Would you like to learn from those who are doing evangelism in a way that works with this generation? Would you like to learn how to pray for lost people? Would you like to help parents know how to lead their own children to Christ?
___These and many other experiences are available to you and others in your church at the Texas Evangelism Conference, Jan. 27-28 at First Baptist Church in Arlington.
___I am excited about the plans, the practical nature of the workshops that will be available and the worship services that will be led by some of our finest Texas Baptist pastors and evangelists.
___Is traditional Baptist revival worship your style? We have that with David Hardage and Michael Bell preaching. Is contemporary worship style your preference? We have that with preachers Jon Randles, Chris Seay and Jim Baucom. The music in both styles will be thrilling and God-centered.
___There will be site visits to Mission Arlington and to the Cowboy Church for a first-person introduction to other effective ways to minister in Christ's name and help people come to know our Savior.
___Early reports indicate our outreach to the lost this year has resulted in more baptisms than last year. We know our Inner City Evangelism teams reached into some of the most neglected areas of Texas and saw more than 3,000 people profess faith in Christ. Churches, large and small, across Texas are learning how to pray for the lost in every church service and every committee meeting.
___I am praying that at least one person in every church in Texas will pray that whatever it takes, they will give themselves to see the lost saved. Brothers and sisters, I make a variation on the Apostle Paul's prayer my own: "My heart's desire and prayer to God for Texans is that they may be saved."
___Come to Arlington for the Texas Evangelism Conference. Let's ask God to save the people of Texas. Let's pray that the joy will spread throughout the Earth.
___Pray for this harvest.
