Reyes named to full-time position with BGCT

___The Baptist General Convention of Texas, in conjunction with the Hispanic Baptist Convention, has named Gus Reyes full-time ethnic consultant for the BGCT Center for Strategic Evangelism.
___"Dr. Reyes is the epitome of the trained, effective, modern leader," said Rick Davis, director of the BGCT Center for Strategic Evangelism. "His passion to reach ethnic people for Christ is unsurpassed."
___Reyes' duties include creating initiatives to reach and train the many people groups in Texas. He will cooperate with various planning groups to produce evangelistic events such as Hispanic Congresso, Hispanic Evangelism Conference, a young singles' camp and ethnic student camps.
___He also is available to consult with churches, associations and companerismos in planning to reach all the ethnicities of Texas.
___Reyes, who had worked as a part-time ethnic consultant for the BGCT Center for Strategic Evangelism since 2001, was the minister to students at Hampton Place Baptist Church in Dallas prior to accepting the new position. He previously served as director of church growth group sales at LifeWay Christian Resources.
___He earned a bachelor's degree in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin and a master of business administration degree from Angelo State University. He also graduated with a master's degree in religious education and doctorate in religious education from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary.
___Reyes and his wife, Leticia, have three children--Andrea, Augustin II and Samuel.
