| Honor society aids children's home. National Honor Society members at San Marcos Baptist Academy worked with South Texas Children's Home on a Christmas service project in December. The 27 members of the honor society, with additional contributions from faculty, provided Christmas gifts for all 53 residents of the Beeville children's home. Students found a variety of ways to raise the money for their gifts. Senior Vera Yu, from Taiwan, purchased gifts for two residents by baking brownies and selling them in the dormitories at the academy. Above: Kelly Posey, co-adviser for the National Honor Society, joins Yu in wrapping presents. |

In cooperation with Baylor, the church will erect a new facility at Dallas and Herring Avenue. Beginning in late February or early March, the congregation will meet temporarily in the building formerly used by Edgefield Baptist Church. Baylor bought that property last June. The Second Missionary Baptist Church property will become part of a 600-bed residential village for university students. Baylor will preserve the church's historical marker in a garden area.
