Springfield now president at Valley Medical ___HARLINGEN--James Springfield has been named president of Valley Baptist Health System, succeeding Ben McKibbens, who retired. ___Springfield has been chief operating officer at Valley Baptist for two years. Previously, he was chief operating officer for Hermann Hospital in Houston. That 818-bed hospital is the flagship facility of Memorial Hermann Healthcare System. ___A Georgia native, Springfield attended Baylor University, where he earned a bachelor of business administration degree. He earned a master's degree in health care administration from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. ___Springfield recently was appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to the Texas Interim Committee on Binational Health Plans. He currently serves on the Council for Policy Development and the Select Committee on Medicaid for the Texas Hospital Association.
