Rendon, Dundas and Guel take new roles

___Two new employees have joined the Baptist General Convention of Texas associational missions and administration regional staff, and a church starting consultant has assumed expanded responsibilities.
___Mateo Rendon has been named West Texas regional consultant with the BGCT office of Hispanic work. He will consult with Hispanic churches in the region, helping them assess needs and access resources. His office will be housed at Iglesia Bautista Templo in Lubbock.
___Rendon was pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista in Corpus Christi. His previous denominational service includes terms as president of the Hispanic Baptist Convention of Texas and chairman of the BGCT Administrative Committee.
___Cathy Dundas has been named Houston-area regional consultant with the BGCT office of intercultural initiatives. She will "enhance the starting and developing of ethnic congregations" throughout the southern part of Texas, according to Lorenzo Peña, coordinator of the associational missions and administration section.
___Dundas served previously as a missions associate with Golden Triangle Baptist Association and as a ministry catalyst for First Baptist Church in Port Arthur.
___David Guel, regional church starting consultant in South Texas, has been named associate director of the BGCT Church Starting Center.
___"Along with his present assignment of facilitating new church starts in South Texas, David will assist Director Abe Zabaneh in all aspects of church starting, especially among Hispanics in Texas and Mexico," said E.B. Brooks, coordinator of the church missions and evangelism section.
