___By Ken Camp

___Texas Baptist Men are joining Tennessee Baptist Men in their efforts to help Canadian Baptists build a new center to house visiting volunteer missions teams.
___Canadian Baptists plan to build a new two-story dormitory-style conference center next to the Canadian Southern Baptist Seminary in Cochrane, near Calgary, Alberta.
___The facility is located in the Canadian Rockies, 15 miles west of Calgary, overlooking Cochrane. The school--the only one of its kind serving Southern Baptists in Canada--was started in 1987 with the help of the SBC International Mission Board.
___Total cost of the project is estimated at $350,000, and Canadian Baptists have pledged to raise at least $87,500.
___Tennessee Baptist Men already have scheduled volunteer building crews, and they are seeking to raise funds as well.
___Nearly eight years ago, more than 400 Texas Baptist Men Retiree Builders and other volunteers built an 18,000 square-foot multi-purpose building on the Canadian seminary campus. Texas Baptists completed another building project at the seminary last year.
___Texas Baptists can continue their involvement with Canadian Baptists by helping Tennessee Baptist Men on their construction project, either financially or as volunteer builders, said John Bullock, director for Texas Baptist Men adult missions and ministries.
___Contributions earmarked "Canadian Convention Fund" should be sent to Texas Baptist Men, 333 N. Washington, Dallas 75246-1798. Volunteer builders may contact Bullock at (214) 828-5353.
