___ Counseling workshop offered. Houston Baptist University will offer an Ethics in Christian Counseling Workshop March 28 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Featured speaker is Randolph Sanders, executive director of Counseling Psychological Studies and a clinical psychologist in New Braunfels. Four hours of continuing education units are available for psychologists, licensed professional counselors, marriage and family therapists and social workers. ___ DBU names vice president. Marvin Schoenecke has been appointed vice president for student affairs at Dallas Baptist University. He moves from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where he was director of housing. Previously, he was associate dean of students and director of campus activities at Belmont University and director of campus activities at Oklahoma Baptist University. He is a graduate of OBU and Western Kentucky University and is nearing completion of the doctor of philosophy degree in adult and higher education from the University of Oklahoma.

The board of directors guiding formation of the Baptist General Convention of Texas' new world mission network seeks suggestions from Texas Baptists on a name for the new entity. ___ Norris headlines Art & Soul. Baylor University's annual Art & Soul festival will feature Kathleen Norris, author of "The Cloister Walk," "Dakota," "Amazing Grace" and "The Virgin of Bennington." She will speak at 8 p.m. March 21 in Jones Concert Hall and will teach a master class on non-fiction writing that morning. Other major presenters include philosopher and author Ralph McInerney, poet Scott Cairns and Houston pastor and author Chris Seay. Except for Norris' Friday night presentation, all events are free. ___ Barna coming to Texas. Pollster and author George Barna will make three appearances in Texas on his new seminar tour. "Leading Your Church Forward" is the theme of the day-long event that will be offered in Houston March 17, Dallas March 27 and Fort Worth May 15.
